QSDC Dental team

  • Callum Dunsmore

I graduated from Otago University in 2003 and since then have been practicing here in Levin. I enjoy all aspects of dentistry from advanced cosmetic treatment to the basics like showing people how to care for their teeth. Our practice has a Cerec CAD/CAM system and I have become very interested in this technology and the convenience and durability it can offer the patient.

Having grown up in Levin I really appreciate the region and the lifestyle it has to offer. We truely are spoilt having so many outdoor activities so close at hand, from beaches to rivers, and of course our beautiful backdrop that is the Tararua range.

My wife Faenza is also a dentist here at QSDC and we have three sons and a daughter.

Outside of work I enjoy time with my family, a round of golf, hunting, motorbike riding and playing the piano.

  • Joash Castillo

I graduated from University of Otago in 2022 and have started my career off here in Levin. I was born in the Philippines and raised in Christchurch. Queen Street Dental Centre was a big jump for me, but the team has eased my move with their kind and helpful nature. The camaraderie of this clinic is beyond what I have expected, and I am grateful to be a part of it.
I enjoy and provide all aspects of dentistry, with a particular interest in oral surgery, emergency care, restorative and endodontic care. My passion for dentistry comes from the rewarding feeling of bringing back a patient's smiles through holistic care. I believe prevention is key to better oral health and strive only for the best of my patients.
In my spare time, I enjoy playing guitar and have keen interests in most sports, most notably basketball and football. I'm very excited to be in Levin and I look forward to meeting you all!

  • Faenza Dunsmore

I graduated from Otago in 2003. The summer of 2003-2004 was a busy time for me with a graduation, a big shift from Christchurch to Levin, a new job here at QSDC and marriage to Callum Dunsmore!

Callum and I have three boys and a daughter. Consequently I am now working part-time.

I love being a mum but also thoroughly enjoy my work as a dentist. It is a pleasure to catch up with my long time patients and meet new faces too. I particularly enjoy the restorative aspects of dentistry and providing care for anxious patients and children.

I am still a Mainland girl at heart but have come to love the Horowhenua for all it has to offer from beaches, rivers and parks to shops and cafés.

  • Kieran Fitzgerald

I graduated from the university of Otago in 2017 and made the move back to my hometown of Christchurch where I worked as a dental house surgeon for one year. While I thoroughly enjoyed my time there, I knew it was time for a change and I was lucky enough to be welcomed into the Queen street dental family.

When it comes to my spare time my interests include sports such as rugby league, cricket, golf and fishing (thankfully there seems to be a lot more fish in the sea here than in Christchurch). While unfortunately there is no rugby league team to join at this stage, I’m excited about getting involved in some local cricket.

I enjoy all aspects of dentistry but particularly emergency care, oral surgery and restorative dentistry. I love getting to meet people from all different walks of life and finding solutions to both their long term and acute problems. Its always really rewarding being able to return both function and smiles to those who may have thought it wasn’t achievable with their current oral health.

I look forward to meeting you all.

  • Lilian Pang

I graduated with my Bachelor of Dentistry from Otago in 2011, and have worked in Wellington and Palmerston North before settling in Levin. I thoroughly enjoy the group practice atmosphere at Queen Street Dental as we are a friendly and welcoming bunch who provide the highest care to our patients.

I am passionate about providing quality care with attention to detail, and a gentle and comfortable experience for my patients as I understand it can be difficult coming to the dentist. I value the importance of preventative dentistry and will work together with patients to maintain a healthy dental lifestyle so they can keep smiling for longer.

I enjoy all aspects of dentistry and provide general restorative, prosthetic, crown/bridge and cosmetic dental procedures, in addition to urgent relief of pain and repair of broken teeth. My hope is to provide patients with the confidence to eat, talk and smile again, no matter how long it has been since their last visit.

Outside of dentistry, I am a photographer and film maker, as well as an avid hiker. I love to adventure and explore, be that in the mountains or under the sea, and look forward to the years ahead in the Horowhenua.

  • Michael Le Pine-Day

I graduated from the University of Otago in 2024 and have been lucky enough to start my career with the Queen Street Dental team. Having been born and raised in Palmerston North, I have smoothly transitioned to working life here in Levin.

I enjoy meeting people from all walks and stages of life, and I offer treatment that is individualised and well planned to equip you to maintain your own smile and oral health. I understand that the thought of seeing a dentist provokes anxiety and stress for many, so I always strive to provide care that is gentle, empathetic, and non-judgemental.

I practise all aspects of general dentistry, with particular interests in urgent care, restorative dentistry, and oral surgery. Seeing people make their own positive steps towards improving their oral health is one of the most rewarding aspects of my job.

In my spare time I love to play saxophone and the drum kit, explore nearby beaches, ski, and spend time with friends and family. I look forward to meeting you soon and supporting you in your journey toward optimal oral health.

  • Denise Liaw

Born and raised in Malaysia, moving to New Zealand was a pivotal chapter in my life. I graduated from the University of Otago in 2025.

As I begin my career as a dentist here at Queen Street Dental Centre, I consider myself incredibly privileged to be welcomed to Levin and be able to serve the local community. I practice most aspects of General Dentistry and strive to provide honest, quality oral health care to patients.

Outside dentistry, I enjoy reading non-fiction, watching documentaries, baking, playing the piano, walks (with good views!), and travelling.
I also speak conversational Mandarin Chinese and Malay.

  • Joshua Young

I was born and raised in Levin. I then moved to Dunedin, where I graduated from the University of Otago in 2024. After working for one year in private practice in Palmerston North, I was fortunate enough to return home and continue my career in the community in which I was raised.

I enjoy practicing all aspects of general dentistry, with particular interests in restorative dentistry, pain relief, and oral surgery.
I understand that dentistry can be daunting for patients; however, I am dedicated to providing care with empathy and compassion. I also place great importance on whānau and whānau-centered care, and on serving our local community.

In my spare time, I enjoy a leisurely swim or cycle, playing the piano, and spending time with friends and family. I look forward to seeing familiar faces and meeting new ones too!

  • Joseph Kang

I am a graduate of the University of Otago, class of 2023. Born in South Korea and raised in Auckland, I am thrilled to embark on my professional journey here in Levin. I thoroughly enjoy the 2minute drive to work which would've been impossible in Auckland!
Queen Street Dental Centre is a remarkable practice with a dedicated team committed to providing exceptional care to our patients, so it is a big privilege to join the team. I am eager to contribute to our community’s oral health as an integral part of this esteemed team.
While I enjoy all facets of dentistry, my interests lie particularly in restorative dentistry, crowns and bridges, oral surgery, and digital dentistry. My approach emphasises preventive measures over treatment, fostering confidence in my patients’ smiles and eating.
Beyond dentistry, I find joy in connecting with people, cooking and experiencing different food, working out at the gym, and playing the guitar which I nurtured since childhood. I am enthusiastic about meeting each of you and ensuring your optimal oral health.
